The Voluntary Service Promotion Association for the second time in July provided us with the presence of volunteers from abroad. This year we had a group of five people: Meite from Spain, Daniel from Mexico, Dang and Chen from China and Hyosun from South Korea. The leaders of the volunteer group were, like last year, Ola and Wojtek from Poland. They were responsible for communication and for carrying out the tasks assigned. In addition we had two volunteers from Siedlce Kuba and Paweł. Young people became very close to each other. They spent each moment together, talking and acting together. Our guests were not afraid of any work. They did every task with diligence: from painting through washing windows. But they job was not only to take care of the building but primarily they were looking after the patinets and they were spending free time with them playing games.
Despite the language barrier, they were able to establish contact even with the most sick residents.Together with the Municipal and Communal Culture Center in Mordy, we organized a bonfire in Ptaszki, where we sang together and played until late evening hours. We showed our guests the beauty of Polish nature and monuments. They had the opportunity to visit the school and the Manor House in the Przesmyki commune. We organized a trip to the Museum of Wooden Architecture in village Nowa Sucha. We showed them Holy Mountain Grabarka, the area around the Bug, the stud in Janów Podlaski and Serpelice. Our volunteers also had the opportunity to appear in the regional television and tell why they decided to come to us.It was a magical two weeks, full of impressions and positive emotions that were shared by everyone. Thank you for this time and see you next time in Poland.
